Group Exhibition „Orten“: 3 – 6 March 2022
Orten (German Ort – place, orten – 1. to make out, to recognize 2. to locate, to determine a certain location).
Positioning. Searching direction. Finding one’s bearings. The longing has possibly never been so strong as it is now. We are locating. Home and realities of life lead us to the countryside and nature, or maybe just next door. Children are seen who otherwise might remain hidden. We search for residues of society in its urbanity. Our families history and our own desires lead us past national borders. We find belongings accompanied by their story in the attic. People under influence opening up new doors of perception. Finding ourselves within the young generation in all its glory and desperation.
Hence, we are not searching for the old – we are positioning the new. One question remains: How far did we come – did we find what we were looking for?
